Walk for Hunger - May 2007
Members of Boston Rotaract Club once again gave their contribution to fight against hunger. We were volunteering in 39th Boston's Walk for Hunger. The amount raised was $3.3 million to feed the hungry and homeless in eastern Massachusetts. As always, it was a great pleasure to take part in this event. We will definitely do it again next year.

Long Island Homeless Shelter - Christmas 2006 Gift Wrapping
Members of Boston Rotaract and Boston Rotary traveled to the Long Island Homeless Shelter (LIHS), an emergency shelter operated by the Boston Public Health Commission, in December of 2006. Marie Sullivan, LIHS liaison, greeted Rotarians with an introduction to LIHS while everyone diligently wrapped dozens of holiday clothing parcels for LIHS residents. The event marked the beginning of an ongoing partnership: Boston Rotaractors are now in the planning stages of a project designed to provide career counseling sessions at LIHS.

Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly - Thanksgiving 2006

Boston Rotaract returned for Little Brothers' Thanksgiving visits. Elderly residents of Boston were greeted with Thanksgiving dinners, flowers, and the company of friendly visitors. In return, Rotaract volunteers had the opportunity to meet people and see neighborhoods that were not a part of their day-to-day lives. Some of the Boston Rotaractors had a chance to visit the same people they visited before and make a deeper connection and even friendships.

Rosie's Place - October 2006

In October, several Boston Rotaract members spent one of Sunday afternoon’s at Rosie’s Place, a homeless shelter for Boston women. For those that have health issues such as HIV or addiction, or problems with mental health, Rosie’s Place serves as a safe haven where they can find shelter, food and support. We were able to serve a full course meal, one of 74,000 annually, to a room full of spirited, intelligent, and grateful women. The ambiance was delightful. We were greeted with kind smiles and solid thank you.  Rosie’s Place has its own sense of family and community.

Boston Book Drive - October 2006
On November 13th 2006, more than 500 books were delivered to the office of the ReadBoston organization. These books had been collected and donated by members of Rotaract Boston between the end of September and the beginning of November 2006. With our donation, we are positive to have made a significant contribution towards ReadBoston's relentless effort in fighting the problem of child illiteracy.

Rotary Family Golf Day - September 2006
On September 30th, 2006, Boston Rotaract collaborated with the Westwood and Dedham Rotary Clubs, where members volunteered at the annual Rotary Family Day in Dedham, MA. This all-day event took place at the McGolf Driving Range & Mini Putt, and consisted of fun activities such as Miniature Golf, Putting Tournament, Chipping Contest, Raffle, and  much more. Boston Rotaract members enjoyed demonstrating their golfing skills while ensuring that the guests enjoyed their day.
